St. Vincent High School Booster Athletic Advisory Panel is hosting a presentation by Josh Sterling on Thursday, April 7th at 7:00pm at Tillman Hall on the St. Vincent Campus. Josh will be speaking to student athletes and parents. This event is free and open to the entire Petaluma, southern Sonoma and northern Marin county area communities.

Key topics include: Learning how to find the “BEST FIT” college for you; Learning some keys to being recruited as a student athlete; Receiving concise information to help you sift through the clutter and myths of the admissions and recruiting process; The importance of SAT and ACT tests; What you should be doing RIGHT NOW; Important technology that can help the student athlete.

As a CCPS and a member of the National Institute of Certified College Planners Josh brings a ton of experience and resources to share. He played for the Sonoma State Men’s Soccer team earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology.

His passion for soccer and desire to help young people achieve their athletic and academic goals directed the next 15 years of his life. He served 8 years as an Assistant Coach for the men’s soccer program at SSU (2002 Division 2 National Champions) helping incoming student athletes. Josh began his own business, Sterling Soccer, and he created the Sonoma County Alliance soccer club. As the director of coaching, he saw the club grow from four to twenty teams and he directed over 20 coaches and trainers.

Josh has worked with over 100 soccer families through the college recruiting process
His concern and interest for young people and his experiences working with them in youth soccer encouraged him to further his education about college funding and admissions, so he could help them make their dreams a reality.
