The Mustang Varsity Baseball team beat Rincon Valley Christian 10-3 yesterday to take over sole possession of 1st place in the NCL II. St. Vincent came away with a total of 13 hits compared to 2 by Rincon Valley. Sophomore Liam Galten was the winning pitcher of record for the Mustangs. Leading hitters included Galten 3×4 (2 RBI), Max Cowell 2×4 (RBI), Patrick Garcia 2×3 (2B, 2 RBI), George Sammon 2×4 (3B), Joe Purtell 2×4 (3B), and Dominic Pedersen 1×3 (2 RBI). This was the final home game for the Mustangs before heading to the NCS playoffs, so the seniors celebrated this home game in style with a critical win. Those senior players included Max Cowell, Brandon Evans, Chris Faulknor, Patrick Garcia, Joe Purtell, and Alex Neve. The team is currently 6-1 in league play and 13-8 overall with 3 league games remaining (Calistoga, RVC, Sonoma Academy).
