STEPS TOWARDS ADMISSIONS

OPEN HOUSE - Sunday, October 3, 2010 1:00pm-3:00pm -  The Open House is an opportunity for parents and students in 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grades to visit St. Vincent de Paul High School. You will meet administration, faculty, students and staff representatives who will, at 1:00pm, present an overview of the school, in the DeCarli Gym, followed by informal classroom visits. 

"MUSTANG FOR A DAY" STUDENT SHADOW PROGRAM - Starting in October Any 8th grade student may shadow a St.Vincent Ambassador on appointed days.  Shadows arrive at 8:00am. They will meet their Ambassador who will guide them through their day, including lunch, with the day ending at 1:25pm. Shadowing is optional. To make a shadowing appointment please visit the "Mustang of a Day" page on this website or call Jody Tobin at 707-763-1032, x 113. Our "Mustang for a Day" shadowing program does not begin until after our Open House. The following schools have set shadow dates: St. Vincent Elementary, Our Lady of Loretto,  and St. Isabella Elementary. (Please see your teacher for more information.)

PARENT TOURS- October, November, December, January, February, March, April
Parents may tour the school on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00 AM. Tours usually take 50-60 minutes.  To make arrangements for your visit or to make special arrangements for a different day, please call Jody Tobin at 707-763-1032 ext. 113.

COMPLETED APPLICATIONS
Please complete the application and return to St. Vincent de Paul High School.  Once the application is received, time permitting, you will receive a post card confirming your student's date for the HSPT Admissions Exam. The application process continues throughout the school year.

HIGH SCHOOL PLACEMENT TEST (HSPT) - Saturday, December 4, 2010
Incoming freshman must take the Scholastic Testing Service High School Placement Test scheduled for 9:00 am Saturday, December 5, 2009 at St. Vincent High School. All students testing on December 5 will receive priority notification of admission status. Walk-in registration is welcome. Doors open at 8:30 am. The exam length is four hours and includes original essays. Students should not feel the need to arrive prior to 8:30am and do not need to bring anything with them (please no backpacks!). All necessary supplies will be provided.  If you miss the testing dates, you may still apply.

TESTING RESULTS - January 2011 Results of the December 5 Placement Test will be mailed to all parents when we receive them, usually the latter part of January, 2011.

SECOND ENTRANCE EXAM - Saturday._January 8, 2011
Make-up Entrance Exam for late applications will be held at 9:00 am at St. Vincent High School. Doors open at 8:30 am. No need to arrive earlier. The exam length is four hours. Students do not need to bring anything with them (please no backpacks!) All necessary supplies will be provided. If you miss the testing dates, you may still apply.

ACCEPTANCES MAILED - March 2011
Parents of students will receive notification of their student's status in early March. The acceptance letter will contain detailed information on returning your Reservation for Enrollment notice and any fees that will be due.

ACADEMIC REGISTRATION - April 2011
All new freshmen will receive a letter listing a date and time for their academic registration appointment. At least one parent must attend this appointment with the student. A faculty member will review placement test results and academic records with you and your student to select courses for the following year. Dates for challenge tests for math and foreign language placement will be announced.
