One of Shakespeare’s great romantic comedies, “As You Like It” follows the story of cousins Rosalind and Celia, as they flee in disguise with their jester Touchstone from the persecution of Celia’s father, the usurping Duke Frederick, and their life at his tense, restrictive court.  They find safekeeping as they enter the vibrant, peaceful, and free-thinking pastoral society of the Forest of Arden.  Clever gender reversals and timely twists of fate propel this spirited comedy of manners.  St. Vincent’s production, set in the 1960’s with a truly groovy soundtrack, will display Shakespeare’s colorful characters and language in the Forest of Arden as a bohemian commune, where philosophy, life, love, and everything in between is truly “As You Like It”.
