In early January the Juniors of St. Vincent de Paul High School trekked down to the Tenderloin in San Francisco for their annual trip to the St. Anthony’s Foundation.
It was a HUGE success!!! The students did a wonderful job!!!
Juniors and parent chaperones sorted clothes, delivered meals to the home bound, served hot meals, cared for the elderly and laughed and smiled while caring for those in need. Both days St. Anthony’s served close to 3,000 meals. In addition, all involved were educated and informed about justice issues related to homelessness and drug/alcohol addiction.
The students are feeling very grateful for the environment they live in, and the experience provided them with greater compassion and understanding for homelessness and alcohol/drug addiction.
It was an incredible experience!!!
What a great way to start the New Year!
