A message from Principal Walker:

Sue Keller has announced her intention to step down as athletic director after twenty years of service to St. Vincent’s. Under her watchful care, Mustang athletics prospered and grew into the program that so ambitiously fulfills the ideals of the school mission. We are grateful for her exemplary service, and pleased that she will continue to serve and represent St. Vincent’s as the girls’ physical education instructor.

I am delighted to announce the appointment of Patrick Hayes as our new athletic director, beginning July 1. After an extensive search and review of over 40 applications, the search committee selected Pat as someone we are confident will bring great leadership to St. Vincent’s athletic program while also working closely with the administration, faculty, students and coaches during each season and on every level.

Pat brings a depth of experience to the athletic department: for the last thirteen years, Pat served as the JV Baseball coach.  Prior to that position, he was freshmen basketball coach.   He is the father of three St. Vincent scholar athletes, Colette ’98, Kyle ’00 and Anna ’05.  Pat holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from USF and a Juris Doctorate degree from Empire College School of Law.

Following his business career as senior new business representative for Pacific Gas and Electric, Pat looks forward to returning to athletic administration where he can focus on the important task of delivering the best possible program for our student athletes.

Sue Keller will continue to assist Pat over the next year as he takes the reins of Mustang Athletics.

Thank you to all who participated in the search process. I welcome your continued thoughts and support of our athletic program in future years.

Sincerely,

John W. Walker
