Students are reminded that they are not allowed to be at their cars AT ANY TIME during the school day.

Also, once the bell for the end of break has rung, students need to be headed to a classroom or the library and must be in one of those places by the START OF TUTORIAL. Students that are not in a classroom or the library are subject to detention.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. Walker.

Every Thursday and everything is $7  Order forms are due each Wednesday to the kitchen by lunch with your payment  (order forms are in the front office and kitchen).

If you are interested in being on a March Madness team, please come to a meeting Thursday

February 23 at tutorial in Room 21 to discuss what you need to do to participate. 4 person team

– $20 (includes t-shirt for each person) If you do not want to participate but still want a t-shirt

your name and size and give your t-shirt money to McKenna or the front office by Tuesday of

TWO NEW SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES for current 9th, 10th, & 11th grade students:

The Burkart-Trapani Family Scholarship of Service application is now available.  This scholarship requires a strong level of participation in community service.

The Dr. Mary Abascal-Hildebrand Memorial Scholarship application is now available to female students of Hispanic or Latino descent with a minimum GPA of 3.0.  This scholarship also requires a strong level of participation in community service.

Ever have a wish to learn flower arranging?  Weddings, parties, or in this case church altars…St. Vincent Church is looking for volunteers to help with flower arranging for the altar of the church on a weekly basis.  We are hoping to find juniors or seniors that are responsible to help in that area.  We are able to give floral lessons.  Please see Ms. Atkinson for details!

Art Exhibit:  Please join us for an artist reception on Sunday, February 26th from 4:00-6:00. We are celebrating our Young Master’s Art Exhibit at Gallery One and Riverfront Gallery. All are welcome.

Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors:  Your spring service hour deadline is quickly approaching!  All service hour documentation should be handed in to your theology teacher by Friday, March 31.

Community Service Opportunities: 

COTS’ Mary Isaak Fellows program is accepting applications for students between 15 and 18 years of age.  The commitment involves 8 hours of group learning/additional reading, 8 hours of direct service and 40 hours of outreach.  This is an amazing opportunity–see Ms. Atkinson for an application!

Little Shepard preschool is holding a fundraiser gala at Hermann Sons Hall to raise money for their music department. The event is March 31st at 6:30 and we are looking for a few students who still need a few service hours to help with the event. This will be a silent and live auction event with dinner and they will need some volunteers to help the moms with keeping the food stations full, organizing the auction items and helping to clear the tables during and after dinner.

Where:  Grace Pavilion, Sonoma County Fairgrounds – 1350 Bennett Valley Rd, Santa Rosa
What will I be doing?  Volunteering with JBF is easy and fun!  Anyone can do it and we’ll show you exactly what to do.  Event set up/breakdown, organize items, greet customers, general customer service, bag items, sort donations, etc.
Partnership:  JBF is proud to partner with the Active 20-30 service organization (www.active2030.com), which serves local disadvantaged kids.  Admission fees are donated to Active 20-30 to take kids back to school shopping and unsold donated items are distributed to local families/children in need here in our community.
Addl. Info:  Wear comfortable clothes, closed toed shoes and dress in layers.  Bring any snacks/meals or drinks that you might like.  Parking is FREE!

Attention All Freshmen:  Leadership is hosting a Just Because Day for the Freshmen Class on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. The theme is Twin Tuesday,  so grab a friend or a group to dress up with. All freshmen who dress up in the theme will receive a special treat on Tuesday! Be sure to follow the dress code provided below. If you have any questions, please ask Ms. Rodnick (mrodnick@svhs-pet.org) or Emma Riley (eriley1@svhs-pet.org) DRESS CODE:                                                                                                                                     

-Leggings allowed only if shorts of school appropriate length are worn over them.

-Opened-toed shoes are permitted as long as alternative shoes are brought for lab science classes and/or P.E.

-Tank tops must be in school dress code (minimum of three fingers in width).  NO bro tanks or cut offs.

-All outfits must be school appropriate; no cleavage, no midriff.  No Morphsuits.

-School appropriate length sports shorts are allowed and shorts must remain unrolled for the entirety of the day.

-No suggestive language, alcohol, or drug references on t-shirts.
