Both the men’s and women’s soccer teams had a win vs. league opponents yesterday. Making a push for the playoffs, the men won their 4th game in a row by beating an always tough team from Anderson Valley 2-0. In the previous match-up, the men had lost to Anderson Valley 1-0. This team is showing improvement and are coming together at the right time for a possible NCS playoff berth. Yesterday’s game had a rare “own goal” for the Mustangs and Henry Lane also scored one. Joe DeMars posted an impressive shut out in goal. Remaining on the men’s schedule are a non-league contest @International and league contests @Sonoma Academy, and  at home vs. Tomales.
The women’s team had another easy win over Tomales 9-0. Goals were scored by Rebecca Dodele (3), Dale Leonheart, Tavia Vitkauskas, Emma Roberti, Kenzie Fairow, Grace Jennings, and Alexa Evans. Assists were credited to Dodele, Vitkauskas, Leonheart, Roberti, Fairow, Delaney Frye, and McKenna Wilson-Kay. The Lady Mustangs are currently 13-3 overall and 9-2 in NCLII play. Their 3 remaining games are @Upper Lake, home vs. Calistoga, and @Roseland. They are looking forward to the NCS tournament in November.
