Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) About SVHS Winter Camps

Safety is our first concern in our camps and on our campus. Currently, we have not received any guidance at the state or federal level that would indicate that our Winter Camps cannot continue in the same manner as our Summer Camps.  That being said, we recognize that we are unchartered waters and that government guidelines and events beyond our control can impact our schedule.  We are moving forward with high hopes while preparing to make adjustments along the way.

If necessary, we are preparing for scenarios with fewer participants, greater social distancing and adjustments to the activities within the camps.  In short, we are working diligently on a variety of future outcomes to deliver a safe and wonderful experience for your child.  At the same time, we acknowledge the possibility (and risk) that the camps may need to be cancelled.

On June 5, 2020 the Sonoma County Health Officer issued a new order allowing a variety of in-person services including outdoor recreation and camps.

In anticipation of these changing local conditions, St. Vincent de Paul High School has implemented robust protocols in order to allow athletic activities on our campus, within the guidelines of the CDC, NFHS, CIF and local health departments.  As events continue to unfold, we intend to adjust our program to comply with all applicable guidelines and regulations.  As of this posting, examples of the revised guidelines include:

  • Maintaining minimum physical distancing of six feet between participants at all times.
  • Campers and staff assigned to a group are to remain together throughout each workout each day.
  • Face coverings that completely cover the nose and mouth are required for everyone.
  • Group size should be limited to 12 persons per facility including campers and staff, inside or outside.
  • Daily health and temperature screenings of campers and staff by a health care professional or designate.
  • Appropriate time be given between use of the campus to allow for thorough sanitation of the facility and equipment.
  • If spectators are permitted to attend, they should remain in an area that provides a reduced opportunity for transmission of any illness while providing an opportunity to observe.

All campers and staff must comply with our General Guidelines, and additional protocols may be required for specific camps.  It is important to note that CIF (the “California Interscholastic Confederation”) is expected to present more guidelines which must be incorporated.

If you have additional questions, please contact the Camp Director, Cameron Eisenhauer at ceisenhauer@svhs-pet.org.

Yes, our programs are co-ed unless specifically noted.

The decisions about constructing camp offerings are determined by a variety of factors.  First and foremost, our ability to secure the highest quality instruction in a specific area because we intend for our programs to be the highest quality offering in our area.  Second, we want to offer a mix of camps for children of many age groups that are a good compliment to one another.  Also, we certainly do not simply want the same programs every summer or winter session.  Finally, we do listen to input from parents and student-athletes to gauge the interest level in our community.

For this winter, with the addition of MICHAEL BRICEÑO to the SVHS soccer staff, we have included this much sought after camp.

The SVHS Camp of Champions tailors its programs to introductory, intermediate and more advanced players. Groups will be divided by age and then by ability. Fun and enjoyment are priorities in our programs.  Unless otherwise noted, the emphasis is on learning skills and techniques in a low pressure, appropriately competitive environment.

If your child is interested in attending, please sign-up now and make your non-refundable payment of $150.

For the first two-years of our camps, we reached full capacity across every offering.  Our expectations for the winter of 2020 is that they will likely allow for fewer participants.  Also, with the emphasis on soccer this winter, and the quality of instruction in that area, we do expect to reach our limit very quickly.

If for any reason, a camp is not allowed or is cancelled; you will receive a full and immediate refund.
